This year we again partnered with Soldier On, the Armed Forces organization that funds recreational opportunities for injured soldiers, to bring ten soldiers to Niagara for our Healing Waters Program. Now in its fourth year, the program depends on the generosity of sponsors like Grindstone Angling in Waterdown, Megalomaniac Winery, Calamus Winery, Tim Horton's, The Franklin Club, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority... as well as the many volunteers from our Chapter and beyond. This year, TV personality Bill Spicer did the basic casting instruction and mentored beginning casters throughout the day of practice on our local bass pond. The Franklin Club again allowed our beginning fly fishers access to their great facility to hone their skills on large Rainbow trout, and this year, Bass Pro came on board with a donation of fly boxes for the soldiers.
