The mid-October weather was again perfect for the three days of our program. The soldiers were hosted at Calamus Winery for an introductory session and reconvened the next morning at Doug Leavens’ bass pond where Bill Spicer quickly got them casting with our new set of rods and reels donated by FP Etc. of Fonthill. At the end of the day we met again at Calamus for fly tying, an excellent meal catered by Comfort Kitchen, awards presentation, and a social evening. The Franklin Club hosted the soldiers again at their lavish facility north of Toronto, where they used their new fly creations to catch the clubs large and feisty rainbow trout.
